The beautiful island of Comino
22/06/16
One of the main islands of Malta; Comino is situated right in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea; more specifically in between the neighbouring islands of Gozo and Malta. Commonly referred to as 'Kemmuna' by the locals it is named after the cumin (Kemmun) seed which used to flourish on the island.
With a population of just 4 residents, Comino's popularity as a destination derives from the island's very calm and peaceful environment; which makes it very popular among tourists; travellers and Maltese and Gozitan
residents alike. It has an area of just over 3.5 square kilometres; most of which is uninhabited due to it being both a natural reserve as well as a bird sanctuary.
